The year was December 1993, in a scary real-estate market similar to the current real estate market. My family was facing a foreclosure. I decided to utilize my VA benefit and perhaps buy my first home, a multi-family.
My idea was to perhaps assist my family and at the same time own my first home. I found a three family near where I lived thirteen years earlier, this was on Belmont St. The year 1993 past and I was now a property owner. I now had a place to assist a family member if they needed an apartment.
The agreement
was to live at Belmont St. but it was difficult to evict with tenants already living there.
My family members found their way and they did not need my assistance. I resided
at my Studio until April 1995.
The year 1995 was a year for renovations for Belmont Stand I also moved to Belmont St. The year past and the beginning of 1996 began with a desire to obtain another property. A cousin of mine owned several properties on Green St. between Pine and Union St. Through some creative financing I found a property that I could afford to purchase. The idea was to find a big three family to obtain a large cash flow. I now was on my way to becoming a real-estate investor.
I eventually moved into my apartment building on Green St. in December 1997. The year 1998 was another year to purchase property. The neighboring property to the three family I was living in became an interest. The property had a garage to store snow blowers, and another vehicle. The owner of the property (which will be named little Green) had some interest in selling. The owner and I agreed on a price. I now owned Big and Little Green.
I purchased another large three family in November of 1998. The property was sold in late 2002. I currently own 3 three family apartment buildings. Big Green has four bedroom units. Little Green has a mixture of 2 and 3 bedroom units. Belmont St. has a mixture of 3 bedroom units. All units offer laundry hookups and off St. parking.
